Cookies and what they do
A cookie is a text file that a website visited by a user sends to the user's terminal (computer or mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet), where it is stored and then sent back to the website the next time the user visits it.
There are different types of cookie:
- • based on who installs them. If they are installed by the operator of the website visited, what are known as “first-party cookies” are installed, whereas if they are installed by a different party, “third-party cookies” are installed.
- • based on the purpose of each cookie. Some cookies allow enhanced browsing by storing certain user choices, such as language (these are called “technical cookies”). Other cookies monitor the user’s browsing activity, partly with the aim of sending advertising and/or offering services tailored to their preferences (these are called “profiling cookies”).
Only profiling cookies require the user's prior consent to their use.
The Website uses technical cookies and third-party profiling cookies.
The Data Controller is responsible only for the first-party cookies that it has installed on the Website.
